Cambridge CELTA
The University of Cambridge CELTA is the most widely known and most popular initial TEFL certification in the world. Each year, 10,000 teachers graduate from CELTA courses that take place around the world. After 40 years of producing excellent English-language teachers, the Cambridge CELTA is now offered in about 280 centers in 54 countries. It is truly an internationally recognized qualification! Presently, CELTA teachers are working in nearly every country in the world.
Since it bears the University’s name, it’s natural to expect that school officials and administrators closely monitor all CELTA courses. In fact, someone appointed by the University of Cambridge individually assesses each CELTA course. This process ensures that the high standards of the course are met, and guarantees that each course adheres to the strict guidelines of the University. It is also one of the reasons why the Cambridge CELTA has such a strong reputation around the world.
The University of Cambridge (through its UCLES department) also provides examinations for students learning English as a second language (ESL), or English as a foreign language (EFL), as it is sometimes referred to. UCLES has administered ESL examinations since 1913 and each year more than eight million UCLES tests are taken in over 150 countries around the world. The tests are known for their quality, fairness, and positive educational impact.
Cambridge has proven its commitment to English-language learning and teaching. If you’re interested in getting a TEFL certificate, whether its as a means to teach English abroad or teach English in New York, the Cambridge University CELTA is a challenging yet rewarding course to take.
