Teaching House New York

Teaching House was set up as a school for excellence in CELTA teacher training for ESL teachers. Its two founders, Ryan Horsnail and Tasha Hacker, are both ESL teachers and teacher trainers with a large amount of experience in ESL teaching both in the U.S. and overseas.

In accordance with CELTA standards, all Teaching House courses are run by trainers approved by the University of Cambridge. All CELTA trainers are highly experienced ESL teachers themselves, and have worked in many different countries. They all hold a CELTA and either the DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) and/or a Master’s degree in Education. They have all undergone a rigorous training process lasting several months and have been externally assessed by a representative from the University of Cambridge.

All successful teachers of the courses run at Teaching House obtain a CELTA Certificate issued by the University of Cambridge. This is a mark of achievement on the most internationally-recognized ESL/EFL course in the world.

The combination of our high-quality course standards and the accreditation provided by the University of Cambridge ensures that our teachers go on to obtain desirable teaching jobs whether they choose to teach English in the United States or teach English abroad.

No other center in New York provides the same level of teacher training with such an internationally-recognized certification. That is why Teaching House's CELTA in New York is the best center for teacher ESL training in the city.
